A+

I used to come home with A’s, 95% or even worse, 93%. My dad, being the typical Asian parent, would tell me that it wasn’t enough that I got an A, or that I couldn’t compare myself to anyone else who did worse than me. He wanted me to be the best.

I never, ever understood it until now. I don’t think he was thinking about this situation when he said those things. He just wanted me to do as well as I could. And right now I don’t want to accept anything less than 100%. 95% is not good enough. 95% is scarier than anything because right now 5% is the biggest percentage in the world. I know it could be worse, but I want the best.
